Privacy Policy

Silver Sands Beach is a private members' beachfront resort in Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, operated by Silver Sands Beach Company Limited (Commercial Registration 4030544900). That company is the controller of the personal data described here. For any privacy question or request, contact us at licenses@silversandsksa.com.

We collect the information needed to run your membership and give you access to the resort:

• Identity and contact details — name, mobile number, email, and national ID or Iqama number.
• Membership details — your tier, assigned unit or locker, membership card number, and start/expiry dates.
• Household and guests — family members you add, and the name and phone of guests you invite.
• Access events — entry and exit records when your QR code is scanned at the gate.
• Payments — records of membership and guest-pass payments (processed by our payment provider; we do not store full card numbers).
• Communications — one-time verification codes and service notifications we send you.
• Location — if you switch on on-grounds services, your device's precise location while you are inside the resort, including while the app is in the background. This is optional and off until you turn it on.
• Device information — a push notification token for your device, so we can send you notifications.

We use your data only to operate the club and its services:

• To create and manage your membership and digital member card.
• To generate your QR code and control access at the gate.
• To process guest passes and facility bookings.
• To take and record payments.
• To send you one-time login codes and service messages.
• To bring a golf cart to you on the grounds and check you out automatically when you leave, if you switch on location sharing.
• To keep the resort secure and meet our legal and accounting obligations.

On-grounds location sharing is optional. It is off until you switch it on in the app, and the club's services work without it.

If you switch it on, the app collects your device's precise location — including while the app is running in the background — for one purpose: so a golf cart can be sent to you on the resort grounds, and so you are checked out automatically when you leave. The grounds have no street addresses, and members keep their phone pocketed while walking, which is why the position has to keep updating in the background.

Before your device asks for the permission, the app explains what location is used for and asks you to agree. While location is being shared, a notification stays visible on your phone and an indicator is shown in the app — sharing is never invisible.

Sharing is confined to the resort. It stops when you cross the property boundary, when you switch it off in the app, and when you close the app — nothing is tracked while the app is not running.

Location data is sent only to Silver Sands' own servers. It is never sold, never shared with advertisers or data brokers, and never used for advertising, profiling, or any purpose other than the services described above.

You can withdraw permission at any time in the app or in your device settings.

If you allow notifications, we store a push notification token for your device so we can send you club announcements, booking confirmations, and gate activity. Tokens are delivered to your device through Google (Firebase Cloud Messaging) on Android and Apple (Apple Push Notification service) on iOS. You can turn notifications off at any time in your device settings.

The camera is used only to scan QR codes and is never recorded, stored, or transmitted. Bluetooth is used only to detect the gate beacon, so your member QR appears automatically as you approach the entrance; that detection happens on your device and no Bluetooth data is sent to us.

We use the WhatsApp Business Platform (provided by Meta) and/or SMS to send you one-time verification codes, guest-pass confirmations, and membership notifications. Your phone number is shared with these messaging providers only to deliver those messages. Meta's handling of WhatsApp messages is governed by its own terms and privacy policy.

Card payments are processed by our licensed payment gateway (PayOne). Card details are entered on the provider's secure systems; we receive only a confirmation and a reference, not your full card number.

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with:

• Service providers who help us run the platform — our messaging providers (Meta/WhatsApp), our payment gateway (PayOne), our push notification providers (Google and Apple), and our hosting provider — under agreements that limit their use of the data.
• Authorities or regulators where we are legally required to do so.

We do not share your location data with anyone.

We keep your data for as long as your membership is active and afterwards only as long as needed for our legal, tax, and accounting obligations, after which it is deleted or anonymised.

Under the Saudi Personal Data Protection Law you may ask us to access, correct, or delete your personal data, and to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. We protect your data with encryption in transit, access controls, and audit logging of administrative actions. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to keep your information safe.
